About the Kempsey District Hospital : The Kempsey District Hospital is established since 1881.In 1880 a public meeting was held in Kempsey School of Arts to consider building a hospital. Voluntary subscriptions were called for and before the end of the year the foundation stone was laid. The hospital opened in 1881 to serve the community until a new hospital replaced it in 1914. This hospital still stands.
